The Carriage Garden

The Carriage Garden is a community plot on Holgate Allotments. The garden provides a focal point for the site, providing plotholders with a place to come together for events, celebrations or just morning tea!

At the heart of the garden is a restored 1905 Great Northern railway wagon, with facilities for making hot drinks. There is also a wildlife pond, a seating area for performances or teaching, a decking area for gatherings, and a beautiful spring garden set in a railway siding. Parts of the garden are fully accessible.

Using the Carriage Garden

The Carriage Garden is available to all Holgate Allotment holders as an informal social area and meeting place. It may also be used for events such as family parties and group meetings by prior arrangement. The space is an ideal teaching facility so please contact us if you are from a school and interested in using the garden.

If you would like to use the garden for an event, please contact the Carriage Garden Co-ordinator: carriagegarden@gmail.co.uk
